The claim to create honest music without any self- set up boundaries was the main impetus for the foundation of Flares in 2007. Always keeping that resolution in mind, the first songs written by the quintet move upon a common ground with modern, progressive Postrock and Shoegaze. This development led fluently into the 4-track EP„Levitation“, which was released in the fall of 2008 and noticed in f anzines, music blogs and other networks all over the world. Now, by the end of 2010, the main thought behind Flares has lost nothing of it’s importance, regarding the upcoming EP„Kingdom Come“ which has been recorded and mixed by the band’s keyboarder Mike Balzer. The love for details also appears in their live shows, in which light and atmosphere in general are an essential element of the performance and therefore part of the instrumentation. In the meantime, the stage has been shared with well-known names such as Red Sparowes, This will destroy you and Caspian, and also local heroes such as Llynch and Schneller Autos Organisation.
